CHINA CONTIUES TO RELENTLESSLY ATTACK OUR NETWORKS, THIS INCLUDES DEFENSE SYSTEMS AND OUR MISSILE INSTALLATIONS.

While we are left with two candidates for the Oval Office that it is hard for anyone to get excited about. The fact of the matter is one of these candidates probably knows little or nothing about the biggest threat to our way of life.  We have to focus our efforts on network security.  As individuals, a small businesses, as multinational corporations, as local governments, and our federal government.  everyone who is connected to the Internet can become an unwilling tool to assist our enemies in infiltrating our networks, The freedom we enjoy by our robust networks, and the ubiquity of the Internet also comes with responsibility.  Having a computer virus active in your computer hurts everyone.  The virus or malware turns your computer into a "bot" or a solider in the army of computers that propagate the attacks.  It is not okay to have an unsecured computer running because "you don't store anything important on it"  It does not matter which platform you use.  You need to budget for and follow through with a protection plan.  You need to do your homework.  If you feel like the subject is just too complex or too time consuming to educate yourself on network security.  You have to find someone who is well versed in network security and you have to be proactive in your approach to this subject.  If your business does not have a budgetary line item specifically for network security expenses., your budget is useless.; when (not if) the day you find your network has been compromised, the loss you may sustain could make the your budget along with your payroll and your sales forecasts and your hard assets moot.  Do everything you can to protect your business from the biggest threat you face.  Do not wait.  Reacting to a breach might be the last wrong decision you have the power to make.  Make the right decision.
